Fiction
In 2002, Matt Wilson, John Munson and I released a collaborative project called Ooh La La. In my bolder moods, I like to call it the world's only rock and roll novel, because it is the only novel I know that integrates prose and music (not to mention video and photography). While you read my story about a Minneapolis rock band and their friends, you hear the soaring acoustic rock music of Matt and John, then known as The Flops.
My second novel, a work in progress, is called Singing School. It tells the story of a former punk rocker turned law student and his group of friends in Los Angeles in the late 1980s. Each chapter is prefaced by one of my poems.
